The passing of a tree

Well, it took a couple of weeks of waiting, but this morning the people are here to remove this tree. My parents discovered that it was dead when they were here at the beginning of August. When the guy came to give an estimate, he immediately identified the type of tree, said that it was a native tree and as such “volunteered” itself quite simply. But he said that this species also lived for a while and then died. So, there ya go. It’s all part of life…
They’ve got a very impressive wood chipper. Remarkable to see the tree disappear almost as soon as it hits the ground.
Woah! Alright then, easy come, easy go. Did they remove “both” trees or was it all one big tree.
I”m glad to see it gone. When did they pick up the brush on the tree lawn?
Now there are 2 trees… SO I guess they were three trees (what a tongue twister for me!!)
Did they say what kind of tree it was besides “native”? I have a Maple in my yard destined for the wood chipper at some point, its hanging on, but only by a thread. I have a Walnut that will eventually take its place as my huge yard tree. The Maple is probably three or four feet diameter, the Walnut is less than one, but growing fast. :)
He did say the type of tree (within a moment of seeing it, quite impressive), but I couldn’t remember. Now that I have the bill :) I know that it was a “box elder“.
RIP Box Elder
